After traveling throughout the U.S. and Canada multiple times, hardcore punk band Conveyer is making its way back to its roots in good old Eau Claire for the release of a new album, No Future. The band, which formed in 2011, plans to release the album at The Plus on June 23. Three of the five members live in Eau Claire, while the others hail from Michigan and Virginia.

“The last few years have been a blur for us,” says Ty Brooks one of Conveyer’s guitarists. “We put out a record called When Given Time to Grow on Victory Records in September 2015 and then we toured over 175 days in support of it through October 2016.” The band recorded the new album, No Future, in January with Greg Thomas (Misery Signals, With Honor, Shai Hulud) in Connecticut. “We absolutely love touring! We love meeting people in new cities and getting to explore places that we have never been. It’s our favorite part about it,” Ty says. The band is currently touring in Canada and got the chance to visit Banff and Jasper National Parks as well as play some awesome shows over the past few weeks. “We feel very fortunate to do what we do,” he adds.

The band was able to explore a lot of new ground on this record, Ty adds. No Future is a lot heavier than anything they have put out to this point and is more lyrically focused on what is happening in the world today, which makes for an angrier and more emotional album. “We are very proud of how it came out,” Ty explains. “Our hope is that people have the opportunity to digest the entire record and it opens their mind a bit to what is happening in this country.” The album addresses political and spiritual issues and “how desensitized this world has become to some of the injustices and horrors that are happening all around us,” Ty says.

“We obviously hope that people enjoy the progression of the music,” he adds. “We feel like this is by far the most complete Conveyer record to date.”

Ty says the band is looking forward to playing again on its home turf and boosting the Chippewa Valley’s hardcore scene. “This scene has been growing a lot over the past few years, and we take a lot of pride in that,” he says. “This will be the first chance we have to play any new songs to the people who have been supporting this band since day one.”
