Joining Chippewa Valley’s handful of film festivals, the Eau Claire World Film Festival is diving into their first year taking you “Around the World in a Weekend,” according to their slogan. Film fanatics across the area are amping up for a international film-filled weekend starting Sept. 29 ending Oct. 1. Primary screenings will be hosted by the Micon Downtown Cinema. Nearly 20 high quality features, documentaries, and animated films will be screened as well as over 30 short films. The best part? Viewers can vote and help their favorite film be crowned king of the festival! Need more excuses to attend? Special guest David Burton Morris, Sundance Film Festival winner and long-time feature film creator, will be making an appearance, entertaining his audience with tales of his time in Hollywood after the showing of his very own hit, Patti Rocks. Also, director John Mitchell pays tribute to our beautiful state with his comedy, Cheeseheads - the Documentary. A Q&A session will follow as the Sunday finale.
