Things at the Chippewa Valley Regional Airport will be flying high on June 16-17 when the Chippewa Valley Air Show comes in for a landing. The air show only happens every few years, so don’t miss out on the chance to see some awesome aerial performances by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, U.S. Air Force Wings of Blue skydivers, F-16 Demo and Heritage Flight, Lucas Oil Aerobatics, Ace Maker, Kent Pietsch Airshows, and John Klatt Airshows. These performances will amaze audiences with death-defying stunts, speed, agility, and finesse. But that’s not all! There will be a more “grounded” performance by the Shockwave Jet Truck, the world’s fastest semi. The show begins each day at noon and runs until approximately 4:15pm, so there’s plenty of time for audiences to be wholly immersed in this high-flying masterpiece. There will also be static displays for attendees who might feel light-headed, including a B-29, a North American B-25 Mitchell, a T-34 Tank, a North American T-6 Texan, a Stinson L-5 Sentinel, a Vultee BT-13 Valiant, a Ryan PT-22 Recruit, and so many more. Remember to bring ear protection: These planes will be loud! Be sure to check out the free meet-and-greet at the Holiday Inn South on Friday, June 15, from 7:15-8:15pm. Parking for the air show is free, and tickets are available online at chippewavalleyairshow.com
