A Crawl to Enthrall: 10th annual Banbury Art Crawl on the way

Breana Good |

The Banbury Art Crawl is celebrating its 10th year the weekend of Feb. 8-9 with displays from more than 60 artists. The crawl is organized by co-chairs Christina Geissler and Holly Gums. Geissler is looking forward to celebrating a 10th year with both new and returning artists. Art categories range from photography, textiles, and antiques to jewelry, paintings, and more. There will be live music accompanied by food at Forage, among other culinary options. The dance studio will host performances from Moonrise Aerials on Friday night and ballet groups on Saturday. Kids will also have the opportunity to make some pieces of art in a handful of studios. “Banbury is a wonderful unique building filled with artists and studios,” Gums said. “One artist had a vision to start an art crawl, and 10 years later it has grown into two buildings and has become a popular event for artists in the Chippewa Valley.” The exhibits will be sprawled throughout three floors in Building 13 and the ground floor of Building 10. The crawl is free, but a little cash won’t hurt when you stumble across a piece of art or a tasty treat you can’t pass up! Parking is available on Galloway Street in front of Building 13, and a shuttle will run to and from The Local Store and The Oxbow Hotel. Find more information at banburyartcrawl.com
