Chippewa Valley party planners looking to spice things up in the photo department this summer have a new, one-of-a-kind option in the Woodlands Photo Camper, a Fall Creek-based photo booth experience. Saige Lindow, a wedding and senior portrait photographer, and her husband, Derrick, launched the mobile photo booth this spring and have big plans to make memories.

“There’s nothing in Wisconsin at all like this,” Saige said. The Woodlands Photo Camper, a converted 1969 Mallard camper, pulls up to events and brings on the photographic fun. Guests can choose from a variety of props and accessories – from fancy hats and sunglasses to cute signs designed for the occasion – and enter at will. A touchscreen system at the front of the camper allows models to set a timer and choose from a few settings, and then the posing begins. Each session yields two three-photo picture strips, just like an old-fashioned photo booth.

Professional lighting gives the photos a polished look, and guests can get an unlimited amount of prints over the course of the event. The camper comes with an attendant to make sure everything goes absolutely smoothly. Hosts receive a complete album of the photos, which they can use as a guestbook or post to social media.

During the first wedding Saige booked with the camper, they stuffed in 14 people – the entire wedding party, including the bride and groom – for an image a traditional photo booth is just not equipped for, Saige said.

The camper has made appearances at several events since its launch, including a stop at the Brewing Projekt’s taproom grand opening in May.

“We LOVE entertaining guests, and seeing everyone having a good time with the photo camper is something we’ve both loved,” Saige said.

Saige has enjoyed working together with her husband to start up the camper – even if she was sometimes frustrated by Derrick’s perfectionism. “He poured 4 months of solid hard work into this project, and spent his entire winter off doing so,” she said. “Seeing it launch was the most rewarding thing we have ever experienced! All the challenges made it so worth it.” In time, Saige hopes to open another camper or two, creating a full-time job for herself and Derrick.
