Clearwater Revue II: A Benefit to End Homelessness will take place Sunday, Oct. 27, at the Pablo Center at the Confluence, 128 Graham Ave. When federal funds were unexpectedly cut from Chippewa Valley homeless programs, participants sprang into action last year to arrange this creative way to help make up the funding shortfall and raise awareness about homelessness. Master of Ceremonies John Murphy (Greatest Hits 98.1) will oversee 15 “something for everyone” performances. These 10-minute acts include the Eau Claire Memorial High School Marching Band; the Eau Claire North High School Northernaires Show Choir; the UW-Eau Claire Concert Dance Company and a cappella group The Innocent Men; the Sue Orfield Band; the Floor Dusters Crew Break Dancing Troupe; ShowTime Championship Wrestling; author and storyteller Rob Reid; Wisconsin State Poetry Out Loud Champion Daeja Loew; the Eau Claire Women in Theater Troupe; the Hip Hop Gospel CollECtive Choir; Karen Rude & Canine Friends; and the Eileen Phillips Cohen String Quartet. One hundred percent of the ticket sales and sponsorships go directly to homelessness programs operated by Family Promise of the Chippewa Valley (Beacon House) and by Western Dairyland. Tickets, which are $25 for adults and $15 for youth and students, are available at the door and online at pablocenter.org. For more info check out the event on Facebook.
