Something weird is coming to downtown  Eau Claire the first weekend in March. In fact, it’s right there in the name: The fourth annual MidWest WeirdFest film festival will be taking over Micon Cinema in downtown Eau Claire from March 6-8. The festival focuses on themes surrounding the supernatural, extraterrestrial, bloody, and all-around eerie with submitted films to be screened for captivated audiences throughout the weekend.

This year’s lineup includes Squatchmore, a hazy recount of two Sasquatch hunters from rural Pennsylvania and The Fear of Looking Up, a cerebral descent into eldrich horrors akin to Lovecraft and the loss of a loved one. For the full announced first programming wave, visit their website at midwestweirdfest.com. Tickets are also available online at filmfreeway.com/midwestweirdfest, with a multitude of options for how weird you want to get. Friday passes begin at $15, with Saturday and Sunday both starting at $25, or if you are looking for a whole weekend of weird, a full festival pass is available for $55, allowing viewing of all three days’ films.

Opening night (Friday, March 6) will begin screening at 6:30pm, with Saturday and Sunday beginning at noon each day. So embrace the weird, step outside of your comfort zone, and watch some movies while your at it with the MidWest WeirdFest.
