From the excitement of baseball games in a historic stadium to the solitary relaxation of fishing in Half Moon Lake, Carson Park is a recreational paradise at the heart of Eau Claire.

Now, the City of Eau Claire is updating its long-range development plan for the park, and it wants feedback from the community through a survey. Your input will help the city evaluate the existing facilities and natural environments and determine the needs for maintenance and upkeep, potential changes and upgrades, and possible new facilities and features to meet the recreational needs of Eau Claire.

Carson Park – which covers nearly 120 acres – provides a variety of passive and active recreational opportunities such as walking trails, scenic overlooks, fishing, picnic areas, athletics and sports, a miniature railroad, museum, and educational facilities.

Between now and Sunday, Aug. 2, members of the public can take the survey online at www.surveymonkey.com/r/CarsonPark. And if you know of someone who would like to take the survey in a language other than English, the city wants to be accommodating; contact the City Manager’s Office at (715) 839-4902 for assistance.
