Hidden away in the Fairfax Park area of Eau Claire is The Red Mixer, a new hot spot where people can chill in a laid-back atmosphere and sip delicious, original cocktails.

The Red Mixer, 2526 Golf Road, is locally owned by  Shelly Rieckens, who took over the building in July 2019 and reopened the space as The Red Mixer three months later. Her passion for people and customer service is the reason why she has stayed in the business for more than 20 years.

The Red Mixer showcases the knowledge Rieckens has gained in her career and also brings a couple signature drinks to Eau Claire. “The Red Mixer” is the first drink Riekens highlights. It’s a super refreshing cocktail with a mixture that gives it a Sangria taste. The second drink, “The Chilynsey Old Fashion,” is made with maple syrup and Buffalo Trace bourbon.

Rieckens has recently started to book live music acts and is hoping to host comedy nights in what she sees as a bright future. “Although a little hidden, our clean, open atmosphere; great service; and, of course, super fun cocktails will keep you coming back,” Rieckens says.
