I went to Jewel of India for the lunch buffet a few days ago, and I was not impressed by any aspect of the restaurant. For starters, it doesn't really have its own atmosphere, and certainly not one that matches the theme. There wasn't a lot of space, and I wouldn't have even known I was in the place if not for a sign in the door - the wait staff didn't really pay me any attention. As for the food: it was pretty good. The basmati rice and tandoori chicken were dry and somewhat bland, and the "salad" was just some sloppily-thrown-together iceberg lettuce with a few tomato slices and some green peppers. My biggest problem, though, was spending $7 on a lunch "buffet" that featured 6 items, two of which were rice and bread. I wanted the buffet to get a good sample of their Indian food offerings, but I was disappointed by the total lack of options.

Delicious food with fresh flavorful spices served hot. Haven't tried the buffet yet. I've eaten at a lot of Indian places across the country and this place holds it own. Only down side was when picking up a take out order they tried to charge me a 18% gratuity. The waiter was nice enough to take it off when I asked about it.

Got to try a sampler from some friends who ate here. Pretty tasty, a little dry but the spices were very good. I'm planning on checking out the buffet on Sunday to try and find out my favorite. It's nice to have a little variety in the eating choices.

Had their lunch buffet, haven't had dinner yet. I've lived in New Jersey where there are a lot of good Indian restaurants, and I was surprised how good and comparable Jewel of India is. It's not the greatest Indian food you'll ever eat, but for Eau Claire, wow. Go there!
