The Joynt

The Joynt is an Eau Claire institution with walls lined with pictures of blues/jazz/folk musicians who played there, art by Robert Crumb, tons of historic beer cans, and the infamous neon "No Light Beer" sign behind the bar. Perpetually ranked as the best bar for both talking and drinking in the annual Best of the Chippewa Valley Reader Poll, the Joynt also has one of the best jukeboxes in town, as well as pool, darts, and pinball. The happy hour is a local fave from 5-7pm every day with eight taps and 15 specialty beers to choose from.

The Joynt
322 Water St
Eau Claire, WI

Only bar on water street worth going to.

Woo-girls and other annoying bar types should continue to steer clear of this place. it's perfect just how it is. Second only to drinking at home. Service is great, bathrooms are always clean, and there is no better place to have an actual conversation with friends and new people. Haven't met a cranky or annoying stranger here! :)

My favorite bar in Eau Claire, by a long shot. Cheap (but well made) drinks, awesome bartenders, and it's quiet enough to talk, unlike the rest of Water st.

The Joynt is a second home to many people. It's a dive-type bar that doesn't really fit in with the Water St scene - which is perfect for the more artistic and open-minded people near Water St. There's a lot of good conversation, the best rotation of bartenders in town, a good jukebox(jazz, indie, reggae, Frank Sinatra) and cheap drinks. A glass of (non-light)beer is $1 or less and mixed drinks are $2. Dogs are allowed and they'll even throw your canine friend a bone every once in a while. Best place in town! Period, or exclamation point.

Great hippy style bar!
