Games for the whole family at the Eau Claire library

From Minecraft to Magic, there will be plenty of opportunities to celebrate International Games Week (Nov. 5-9) at the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library in Eau Claire. The library and its Dabble Box makerspace will be hosting numerous events for young kids, teens, and adults alike:

All Week: Minecraft. The library will be running its own Minecraft server. Come build and explore with the library community.

All Week: Giant Games Week. Try your hand at super-sized family games.

Monday, Nov. 5, 5-8pm: Pen & Paper Night. Join Dungeon Master John to explore Tiny Dungeon, an outstanding and fast-paced introductory pen-and-paper role-playing game. Online registration is required (www.ecpubliclibrary.info/calendar/dungeon).

Tuesday, Nov. 6, 3-5pm: Retro Video Games. Just for teens! Come to the Dabble Box to experience gaming like “back in the day.” Drop in to try the video game classics your parents grew up with.

Wednesday, Nov. 7, 4-8pm: Cube Draft. Find out what Magic players have been raving about for more than 25 years. If you haven’t tried Magic: The Gathering yet, hang out with Dustin from Games by James and participate in this cube draft. Registration is required (www.ecpubliclibrary.info/calendar/magic).

Thursday, Nov. 8, 6-8pm: Jon’s Escape Room. Who hasn’t dreamed of (or dreaded) being trapped in a giant puzzle, seconds away from doom? Try Jon’s challenging escape room and see if you’d survive.

Friday, Nov. 9, 6-8pm: Adult Games after Hours. For those 18 and up. Come see what all the fuss is about with the adult gaming trend. We’ll be playing games like Cards Against Humanity and What Do You Meme. Leave your conscience at the door! Registration is required (www.ecpubliclibrary.info/calendar/afterhours).
