You Could Be One of the Kids From Wisconsin!

How many Chippewa Valley performers will represent the region on this year’s Kids From Wisconsin cast? Time (and auditions) will tell. The touring troupe is hosting auditions for 15- to 20-year-old talent in Eau Claire on Friday, Feb. 21. The singers, dancers, and instrumentalists who are selected will be a part of the show’s 2020 program, “Live! In Living Color!” which is expected to reach 120,000 fans and travel more than 7,000 miles.

Performers receive room and board as well as a weekly stipend.  Last year Spencer Rhoten and Brennan Anderson from Eau Claire and Chase Bucheger of Chippewa Falls sang for Kids from Wisconsin. The troupe’s training and performance schedule runs from late May through August, with more than 60 shows, including at the Wisconsin State Fair. The location of auditions is yet to be determined.

Kids From Wisconsin’s cast has been proclaimed as “Wisconsin’s Premier Musical Ambassadors” by every Wisconsin governor since 1969, and more than 70% of participants go on to a professional career in performance.
