Chalkfest 2008

photos by Jesse Johnson

PHOTOS BY JESSE JOHNSON. Images from Volume One's first-ever Chalkfest event in downtown Eau Claire's Wilson Park, Saturday, August 9. Approximately 40 professional and amateur artists (and hundreds of kids) drew amazing large-scale artwork on the sidewalks around the fountain in Wilson Park. Thousands of people came throughout the day to see the artists' work come to life. Additional side events also took place, including a Pictionary tournament, artist duels (or "Chalk Offs") and plenty of food and drink was available. Takes place in conjunction with Downtown Eau Claire Inc,'s annual event, Summerfest.
