It was a night of large bands as local favorites Irie Sol and Duncan Ninja took to the stage behind the State Theatre’s big, thick curtains. Irie Sol presents a blend of reggae, dancehall, ska, jazz, soul, funk, rock and hip hop, and Duncan Ninja is a funk group comprised of two suave singers, five hot horns, and a ripe rhythm section. (Codeveloped by Volume One and the State Theatre, the Back Stage Concert Series brings you in through "the wings" and onto the the venue's stage for concerts bookmarked by a brick wall on one side and the velvet curtain on the other, creating an intimate awesomely lit space of its own.)
