Hands down, the Aug. 8-10 Ashley for the Arts festival in Arcadia’s 53-acre Memorial Park is one of the best values around. For only a $15 wristband (good for all three days!) there’s top-shelf entertainment, arts and crafts, and family fun. Established by Ashley Furniture Industries in 2009, the festival, now in its 11th year, continues to expand its offerings. All proceeds from the three-day extravaganza benefit Ashley for the Arts, a nonprofit initiative. In 2018, the event raised $535,500 for 51 non-profit organizations. This year’s Main Stage showcases award-wining country, pop, and rock bands. Lady Antebellum headlines with eight other acts, including locally grown Chris Kroeze and nationally known Billy Ray Cyrus. Rounding out the Main Stage are Brothers Osborne, X Ambassadors, 38 Special, 3 Doors Down, Mat Kearney, and Morgan Evans. Between the Main Stage performances, 13 other musical acts will hit the Pavilion and Soldier’s Walk stages. And musical groups from 11 local schools will perform in the Millennium Amphitheater. The event will kick off Thursday with the Pursuit of a Cure 5K run/walk and charity raffle. New on that day are Painting in the Park, a canvas painting class, and Yoga in the Park, hosted by Devine Yoga. As in years past, there will be an Art & Craft Fair with nearly 100 vendors, an interactive art space, and an air park with bounce houses and obstacle courses. Admission wristbands will be available at the gate Aug. 8-10 and at participating Ashley HomeStores through Aug. 3 in Arcadia, Eau Claire, and Prairie du Chien as well as Rochester, Minnesota.
