A Murder Is Announced

Theatre Guild stages Agetha Christie murder mystery

“A murder is announced and will take place on Friday, October 29th, at Little Paddocks, at 6:30pm.  Friends accept this, the only intimation.”  That’s the text of the newspaper notice that set’s Agatha Christie’s “A Murder is Announced,” into motion.  The victim is not someone from the home, but rather a visitor who is unfamiliar to the other characters.  Over the course of the story, characters attempt to discover the identity of the murderer, often being foiled by concealed identities, miscommunications, and even a second death.

Members of the Chippewa Valley Theatre Guild are preparing to stage this murder mystery at the Grand Theatre (102 West Grand Ave.) with shows at 7:30pm on Jan. 9-11 and 16-18, and matinees at 1:30pm on Jan. 12 and 19.  Performers include Jenna Graffunder as Julia Simmons, Sarah Wildes as Letitia Black, Angie Alexander as Dora Bunner, and Shane Miller as Patrick Simmons.  Tickets are $25 for adults or $12 for youth.  More information is available online at cvtg.org
