Get ready for big year in beer. With the grand opening of Brewery Nønic on Jan. 19, Menomonie will sport two new taprooms as we head into 2019.

The other new Dunn County brewery, Zymurgy, opened in December with a crowded reception. Nønic promises a chill atmosphere to bring people together to enjoy good beer and good company in the old railroad depot building. Zymurgy – hip, bright and housed in an old auto repair shop – will bring customers not only beer, but also classes on fermentation of all kinds.

But wait, there’s more! Altoona is slated to get some new sudsy digs in 2019: Ombibulous Brewing looms on the horizon.

And, to top it all off, the Brewing Projekt in Eau Claire will finally open a huge new riverfront taproom for guests to enjoy their unique, experimental concoctions in. Construction is nearing completion for a mid-January launch. The rooftop patio is finished and the ground-level patio will get sod in the spring. “We think the impact will be huge,” said Will Glass, “President Voluntario” of the Brewing Projekt. “We’ve talked to other developers who’ve said they are drawing up plans to be in our neighborhood.” The brewery is planning on hosting a grand anniversary event in the venue sometime in the spring.
