Several Chippewa Valley hospitals recently earned national recognition for offering good work environments, while one was also honored for the quality of its maternity care.

Hospital Sisters Health System, which includes HSHS Sacred Heart and St. Joseph’s Hospitals, and Mayo Clinic Health System, which includes a hospital in Eau Claire, were named among the “150 Top Places to Work in Healthcare” in the United States on a list recently published by Becker’s Healthcare. 

Becker’s, a publisher focused on the healthcare industry, said the list “highlights hospitals, health systems, and healthcare companies that promote diversity within the workforce, employee engagement, and professional growth.
 
“The organizations featured on this list offer benefits and opportunities for employees to build successful careers above and beyond the average healthcare provider or company; they encourage professional development and promote leadership from within,” an introduction to the list explained. “Many honorees on the list offer substantial wellness and personal benefits to ensure employees strike a positive work/life balance.”

Mayo Clinic Heath System in Eau Claire was also recently recognized on Newsweek’s “America’s Best Maternity Hospitals” list. The magazine bestowed five ribbons — the highest award offered — on both Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire and Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. 

MCHS in Eau Claire was one of only 161 hospitals nationwide to receive the five-ribbon ranking.
