‘Strawberry Cake’ by Jori Viana

Jori Viana earned a BFA in Studio Art, with a concentration in Painting. Her work has been shown in galleries from Minnesota to Italy. Her biggest inspiration comes from recreating happy nostalgia.

“Strawberry Cake” (2021) Mixed Media; Watercolor and Gouache, 9”x 12” by Jori Viana  From the artist: “I use playful watercolors and sweet imagery to create my ultimate whimsical dreamscape. It’s become a world of suspended realities, including the likes of gentle bears, funfetti birthday cake and bright milkshakes. I want my viewers to find joy and warmth in the welcoming colors and nostalgia that’s sparked by my imagery. More importantly, I want my artwork to be used to reconnect with oneself. That could be indulging in happy memories of the past, laughing at what delights them or letting their imagination start to roam. I aim to have my viewers walk away feeling lighter and happier for having seen my work.”
