He and his wife, Christine, have lived in the Brunswick Township for the last twelve years with sons David and Jack. As owner of TreePurpose of Eau Claire, I make my living by taking logs that have been recycled from the city of Eau Claire and turning them into useful creations in homes, businesses, and public spaces.

What’s your passion?

I’m a huge fan of the outdoors. In the last few years, I’ve really gotten into road cycling. It’s a great way to stay in shape and enjoy the natural beauty of our region. And the Chippewa Valley offers so many great bike route options to enjoy!

What’s your favorite wood piece you’ve made so far?

That’s a tough one. Getting to do the woodwork at the Oxbow/Lakely was very meaningful to me as it marked the beginning of my connection to the community. So many quality individuals and businesses were involved with the project, and it was great to be included in their company.

What place in town considers you a “regular”?

If it could talk, the Chippewa River south of town. It’s an amazing place to hike, fish, kayak tube, bird watch, look for agates and generally unwind.

What’s your favorite local festival?

The Eaux Claires festival was otherworldly. To have so many of my “wheelhouse” bands right in my backyard was an experience I’ll never forget. Here’s to its resurrection!

What is your favorite piece of local trivia?

The stuffed black bear that greets passerby’s in Wintership’s front window was harvested by none other than my dad, Harry Brudnicki.

Death bed, one meal from a local restaurant, what would it be?

Fish Tacos at The District. Not sure what kind of magic they put in there but it’s for real.

Water Street or Downtown?

We love taking walks downtown. In addition to the beautiful architecture, old and new, the city has done a great job of making the river accessible. Plus, ice cream!
