BUTTERFLY BEAUTY. Beaver Creek Reserve's Butterfly House reopens in July. Its season running July 5-Sept. 3, 2023.

Beaver Creek Reserve’s popular Butterfly House reopens for the season on July 5, and on Aug. 6, Butterfly Fest returns! Folks are invited to experience the beauty of wondrous Wisconsin butterflies with a guided tour through the Butterfly House from 11am-3pm for Butterfly Fest.

The ticketed, all-ages Buttery Fest offers the chance to check out the Caterpillar Lab where Beaver Creek Reserve (BCR) raises monarch caterpillars from egg to chrysalis, and people will be able to learn about the various species of Wisconsin butterflies.

More than 30 native Wisconsin butterfly species call the Butterfly House home, and since 2016, it has hosted 20,000-25,000 visitors. Plus, you can also sponsor a butterfly at Beaver Creek Reserve! When you sponsor a butterfly, your name is added to the plaque on the Butterfly Pavilion wall, and only five species are left to sponsor: Giant Swallowtail, Eastern Tiger Swallowtail, Great Spangled Fritillary, Question Mark, and Red Admiral.

Butterfly-themed crafts will be offered throughout the fest, and you can sip on lemonade or enjoy some ice cream, too. Advanced ticket sales end on Friday, Aug. 4, so snag yours today!

Butterfly Fest tickets for members are $8 per adult, $5 per youth aged 2-15, and free for kids under 2. Non-member tickets are $10 per adult and $7 per youth aged 2-15. Pre-registration isn’t required, and walk-ins will be accepted.

Can’t make it to Butterfly Fest or just need to see the beautiful Butterfly House sooner? The Butterfly House is open seven days a week, Monday-Saturday from 11am-3pm and Sunday 12-3pm. The Butterfly House is an outdoor structure, so it is closed on rainy days, and will operate through the season until Sept. 3.
