“It Feels Like Summer” by Mindy Huntress

Imagination has been a source of optimism for Mindy Huntress since childhood. At a very young age she was creating worlds to escape reality. She started painting in 2009 while studying Art at UW-Stout. Over the years she has created a unique painting style that combines simplicity with heavy detail and precision using acrylics on canvas. Within her paintings you will find whimsical landscapes and vibrant colors that capture the viewer’s attention. She uses symbolism and loveable characters which allows the art to become a storyteller. Mindy's studio is located at Banbury Place in Building 13, Studio 120.

“It Feels Like Summer” (2021) • Acrylic on Canvas   From the artist: “Summer invites us to explore the great outdoors, to embark on new adventures, and to reconnect with nature. Summer also teaches us the importance of slowing down and appreciating moments of stillness. It's finding respite in a hammock swaying gently between two trees, feeling the warmth of the sun on our faces as we close our eyes and let our thoughts wander. This piece celebrates and cherishes summer. It is a gift that fills our hearts with warmth and radiance. It reminds us to appreciate the beauty of the world around us, to live fully, and to revel in the simple pleasures that make life truly extraordinary.”
