After utilizing RAVE Alerts for five years to deliver public safety notifications to the public, Eau Claire County is searching for a better option in the new year. With only 2.6% of the county population opting into the RAVE Alerts system, the county is seeking community responses to its Eau Claire County Emergency Notifications Survey.

County residents are invited to fill out the seven-question survey, the results of which will better guide how the county notifies the public of severe weather alerts, imminent threats (hazmat, active shooter, or other threatening emergencies), and public safety alerts.

RAVE opted-in members will receive an alert before Dec. 31 to inform them of the discontinuance of the system. In the interim between alert systems, the county encourages people to activate Emergency Alerts on all devices.
