From graduations to weddings to even newborn babies, life has so many big events to remember and document. Finding the right way to preserve all the moments is a problem one area shop knows how to solve – and that’s Picture This Scrapbooking and More.

Picture This has recently moved to 2235 N. Clairemont Ave. in Eau Claire. According to the owner, Picture This is 6,000 square feet, making it Wisconsin’s largest scrapbooking store by square footage. They held their grand opening at their new location on April 12 and already have plans to expand further.

Sheila Earp, the current owner of Picture This – which was previously located on Eau Claire’s south side – said the store is a popular spot for customers to find the products they need and she’s proud of what the store has become for customers.

“We’ve kind of built a little community here,” Earp said. “We have several different kinds of customers. We have our regulars that come in weekly and are almost like friends. It’s like a social visit as much as a shopping one.”

The store has a large collection of paper crafting products, with a dozen aisles of die cuts, embossed folders, stamps, stencils, ribbon, and more. The products are organized according to themes, such as graduation, holidays, geography, or cartoons. They are also known for their card-making options and stamping dice.

The fun doesn't end there. Picture This is also conducting renovations to open a retreat connected to the store. The current plan is to sleep 16 people in the space so crafters can spend the weekend scrapbooking with friends.

The space is currently under construction and is set to include a kitchen, workroom, four beds, and four baths. Reservations will be able to be submitted on their website.

The building Picture This currently resides in also has a history in Eau Claire. The building was once Mike’s Smokehouse until that well-loved eatery closed in 2014. Then it became Red Coal BBQ, which closed after a fire in May 2022. Earp then purchased the building and Picture This had a new location.

Picture This is also set to have crafting classes and events for patrons to enjoy. The classes have not started as the store settles into its new home, but the first event is scheduled for June 8 and will feature wildflower garden virtual cards. For all classes customers can either attend the event or purchase a kit to make the craft at home.
