Saturday: Northwest Beerfest

Unleash your inner beer connossier as you sample hundreds of beers from over 20 breweries at the 2nd Annual Northwest Beerfest on Saturday. Ticket price includes beer sampling, meal ticket, one raffle ticket and a commemorative glass. All proceeds to benefit the Chippewa Area Ice Arena. Tickets on sale at Gordy's County Market. GOING NATIVE: Native Plant Sale | Let the plants you already have get to know some of the locals. Choose from many varieties of native flowers, grasses and herbs to mix into your existing flowerbeds or start your own mini-prairie in your yard. Proceeds will help support activities at the Reserve. Plant experts will be on hand to answer questions. (Wise Nature Center, Beaver Creek Reserve, Fall Creek; 9am-1pm)

DANCING BELLIES: World Belly Dance Day | Your chance to learn the art, beauty and power of belly dance. Learn how to shake it in introductory classes or just hang out and partake of henna tattoos, Zumba, yarn hair braiding, music, drumming and a performance by Shimmy Sisters of Eau Claire and Samsara of Eau Claire, plus a raffle of various items including Chippewa Valley Renaissance tickets. (Grand Little Theater, Eau Claire; 1-3pm; Donations accepted benefiting Bolton Refuge House)

CHEESE THAT ISN'T YOURS: Nacho Cheese Party: Feathe + The Heart Pills + Vacation Dad + Farms | Get your tortilla chips and warm pretzels ready because Red Mountain's got 20 lbs. of nacho cheese, and they need help getting rid of it. They've enlisted a slate of local bands to make it worth your while to help them dispose of the molten mound of yellow goodness. (Red Mountain, 1205 Graham Ave., Eau Claire; 8:30pm; FREE)
