Helping Youth Cope

a local non-profit is responding to the needs tweens

BaredFeet, Co., a local arts and wellness nonprofit that provides free programming, is starting a new virtual platform for tweens looking for some normalcy. They are offering a free twice-weekly virtual group all summer for youth entering grades 5-9 on Wednesdays from 10am-11am starting June 8.

Using their “Hands of Peace” model that has had great success over the last 7 years, and the free virtual platform “Microsoft Teams” to allow, kids will be able to connect with their peers, have a space to share their thoughts, do art projects together, do movement activities, make group poems, learn yoga, and experience self-care tools to generate more peace in their lives. BaredFeet is prepared to ensure that any tween who wants to be involved will have access to the group – although a computer and internet is required, they will walk through how to access the group and deliver art materials to participant homes. If your tween would like to join, email baredfeet@gmail.com
