Marion’s Legacy closed about one year ago after years of serving loyal customers and passersby baked goods and chocolates. Now, the former coffee shop’s space inside a historic downtown Menomonie building is up for grabs once again.

Available for rent as of today (Nov. 1), the property is still outfitted with a commercial kitchen (stainless steel exhaust hood, two stainless steel sinks) and its iconic original antique tin ceiling. With well-loved hardwood flooring, two bathrooms, a Trane heating and cooling coil system, and a spacious layout, the 1,641-square-foot space is ready to house its next business.

Located at 632 S. Broadway St. and seeing much foot traffic and great exposure off of State Highway 25, it’s also primed to be a potential go-to for college students from the nearby UW-Stout campus depending on the type of biz that moves on.

Since the space was a former longtime cafe and coffee shop, the Downtown Menomonie organization said it would be a perfect spot for a similar vibe.

“This would be a perfect option for anyone interested in opening a cafe, bakery, retail store, or a combination of the three,” Downtown Menomonie said in a Nov. 1 Facebook post.

Comments on the online post were already suggesting ideas and letting other local businesses know of the space, with some people tagging spots like Scatterbrain Cafe and Hope & Anchor Coffeehouse. Others suggested it could be a great bookstore location or a spot to pick up healthy snacks.
