Gourmet organic, all-natural panini sandwiches are the specialty at Golden Leaf Café, where you’ll also find homemade soups, salads, and pies. After eating, peruse the connected specialty shop for foodstuffs and tea. They also offer a gluten-free menu, as well as an espresso bar. Outdoor seating, vegetarian and vegan friendly. Private conference room can be reserved. Proud roasters of Cafe Femenino fair trade coffee, which supports women and families globally.
Scones are good, specialty coffee drinks are fair. They have a decent atmosphere for study and serve organic foods. Sandwich portions are somewhat small, but the homemade soups are good. I do agree that the location is not ideal for students, but it is worth a trip.
I think this is one of Menomonie's best kept secrets that more students need to find out about. It's on the 'other side of town', meaning that students rarely drive by it. It's across the road from the hospital.
They have a sandwich selection that is far superior to that of the Acoustic Cafe, with a great variety of cheeses and meats and fresh pestos! Their scones are delicious, but pick one up before noon because they sell out fast.
They also have an international hot chocolate list, with warm chocolate drinks from around the world that include such flavors as cinnamon or mint. Really, really tasty.
From the Stout campus, I would say that this golden treat lies a twenty minute walk away. Worth every step.
