A local favorite, the Chippewa Falls Oktoberfest celebrates German culture by building connections through dressing up, dancing, eating great food, and (of course) enjoying beer! With stages filled with live music, a kids play area featuring games, art, and more, and local beer from Leinenkugel’s to go around, Oktoberfest also brings something new for its 20th anniversary in the Valley: a Bierhaus!

“You can choose from a fantastic flight of tap beers, perfect for those who love variety and want to explore different brews,” Missy Prissel, Program Director for the Chippewa Falls Area Chamber of Commerce, said. Of course, you can also get your favorite beer in a full glass if that’s what you prefer! “Attendees can expect … entertaining competitions such as sauerkraut eating, stein holding, and barrel rolling. (Folks can) enjoy the cultural charm of a glockenspiel show and relax at the Bierhaus with friends and family.”

Catered to all ages and tastes, a variety of music, events, and food are offered at the venue. Truly built on the support of the community, there’s something for everyone. With balloon artists and face painters, festival games, art, and more, you won't want to miss this year's festivities.

“Chippewa Falls Oktoberfest owes much of its success to the active involvement of the local community,” Prissel said. With the help of the community, the event showcases a strong connection to not only authentic, German culture but also the Valley itself! Oktoberfest also shares a portion of its profits with the volunteer groups that assist in the planning and implementation of the festival.

This year’s beer festival will be held Sept. 15-16 at the Northern Wisconsin State Fairgrounds in Chippewa Falls. A daily wristband is $12, the weekend wristband $18.
