The journey is far from over for the Journey Ahead Podcast.

The podcast, like this section of the magazine you’re reading, is produced by the Aging & Disability Resource Center of Eau Claire County and Volume One. Host Lisa Wells, a dementia care specialist with the ADRC, says she’s looking forward to recording the third season of the podcast, which made its debut in 2021.

The Journey Ahead Podcast is aimed not only at seniors but also at their family members, caregivers, and anyone interested in aging well. Previous seasons have featured a total of 19 episodes, the last of which was released earlier this year. Now, Wells will return to the microphone in the coming weeks to record at least six new episodes. Topics will include friendship and aging, emergency preparedness for older adults, experiencing joy while living with dementia, and living smart with adaptive equipment and technology.

Wells said she’s received positive feedback from listeners near and far.

“I enjoy getting the word out there, and I think our older adults are getting more comfortable using technology,” she said of sharing information in this format. “They’re using their smartphones, they’re using their iPads, they’re listening to podcasts.”

The latest season of the Journey Ahead will be available later this fall at VolumeOne.org/podcasts as well on the ADRC website and through numerous podcasting services such as Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, and more.
