Scene: On a sunny summer afternoon, the neighborhoods of the Chippewa Valley gather for a brawl. Everyone’s brought their weapon of choice. Southside Eau Claire has their hockey sticks and the town of Washington clings to their pitchforks. The fight starts, the dust flies. When it’s all over, Eau Claire’s Eastside Hill comes close to victory, but they are still distracted by the loss of Chicken Unlimited. At the end it was between the Third Ward, with all their books and walking sticks, and West Side, with their crooked two-by-fours from Menard’s Distribution Center. West Side wins! —Eric Rasmussen
